As most of you know, I am a qualified emotional freedom technique practitioner. This was always a tecnique that I had a lot of interest in. This interest came when my own anxiety was at a stage when it would not allow me to sit and meditate. I needed to move.
EFT, or tapping as most of us know it as, allowed me to do just that. To move, to talk, to process what was going on in my body and around me. Like its name suggests, it gave me a sense of freedom. So from that firsthand experience of how powerful it could be, it was always something I was going to train in and teach to others.
Emotional freedom technique (EFT), is a simple and accessible method that combines elements of acupuncture, psychology and mindfulness. It involves tapping, with the fingertips, on specific acupressure points on the body while focusing on a particular issue/ emotional problem.
It can be done alone or with a practitioner. When working with a practitioner, EFT can help release emotional blockages that have been stored in the body for many years. It can help transform limiting beliefs, fears, phobias, stress, anxiety, physical pain, addictions and grief to name a few.
When using tapping as part of your daily self care routine it can help boost general well being, improve relationships, sleep, self esteem and confidence.
Some of my favourite simple but powerful ways to use EFT are
Tapping with the breath.
Tapping on its own is enough, however, when I combine it with some deep, full breaths, it calms me right down, it brings me back to my centre, I feel grounded and at peace. Simply tap on each tapping point while taking one full deep breath. Complete this cycle once, or as often as needed.
Tapping with positive affirmations.
Combining tapping with positive affirmations can be powerful. Usually, I will write down between 5 - 10 affirmations, related to a specific topic. So if I am working on my confidence these could look like, I am a confident woman, I am proud of my achievements, I believe in myself. When I have my list ready, I tap on each point and repeat the affirmations.
I Really do encourage you to give these a try!
If you would like to try a1:1 tapping session with me, get in touch. I hold in person and online sessions. I would also be happy to answer any questions you might have about tapping.
